How about a TREASURE MAP and an ADVENTURE finding and retrieving the GIFT/INHERITANCE you wish to pass on? :wink::yes:

With GPS and some creativity you can pass on more than just GOLD and SILVER you can give that "SPECIAL PERSON" --- an ADVENTURE and perhaps an EDUACATIN in the REAL VALUE of PMs and a deeper understanding in to who YOU ARE/WERE! :36_3_13:

You can make it as complicated as you like --- perhaps burry a coppy of "Jeckle Island" and some ware in the book make some notations/CLUES in the margins of pages that causes them to THINK :thinkey: --- Send them on a "QUEST" :yes: -- modern life is far too simplistic and has lost all conection to the TRUE VALUE of both PEOPLE and THINGS!:shine:

Every thing today is SOooooooooooo superficial and PLASTIC but GOLD and SILVER are "REAL MONEY" and people NEED to understand THAT!:yes: They need to IDENTIFY how they relate to what IS MONEY -- NOT just HOW they can SPEND IT!:yes::shine:

It took conciderable THINKING and EFFORT on YOUR part :yes:to caumulate your TREASURE and one would hope that the ones geting it:dontknow: would also LEARN a deeper APRECIATION of both YOUR GIFT and YOU for helping THEM to have a better life once you are gone!:shine:

Don't just give them GOLD and SILVER :452: BETTER that they also get an EDUCATION and APRECIATION for what REAL MONEY IS and what it REPRESENTS -- REAL WORK and EFFORT by some one some ware -- in this case YOU and the ones you LOVE and care for should UNDERSTAND that! :yes::shine:

Duck, my coin dealer warned me about this. He said passing PMs on to family members rarely has a good outcome. Most of the time they have no idea how to sell and unload them quickly and get ripped off or sell on bad market timing.

QWAK,Canadian-guerilla, If you TEACH them about REAL MONEY and make them put in TIME and EFORT to get it:wink::yes: --- THEN it is much MORE likely you will ACTUALY help them have a BETTER FUTURE rather than a "SPENDING SPREE" and they will UNDERSTAND and APRECIATE both YOU and your GIFT at a higher level!:shine:

If you need ideas about how to set this up you might start at www.geocaching.com. Most of the cache's they set up are one day adventures - although some are fairly elaborate. But it might give you a few good ideas.

I don't know if I could put everything in a cache, but some amount might still be a good lesson for my heirs.

All types of lessons could be reinforced with this type of exercise. Map/compass reading, camping skills, reading and interpretation, cryptography, etc.

The more I think about this the more I like it. My problem is the limited area I have to bury any treasure. And it wouldn't have to be just PM's. Think about what each heir might find attractive about you and what lessons you might want them to learn.

Kinda brings out the pirate (pyrite?) in me.

An Easter Egg hunt. I hadn't thought of that. I was mainly focused on the time when my remains are launched into space. I want to look down and laugh my ass off as they are trying to figure out what the hell I had done. My guess, most would give up after a modest effort. Fortunately, I think my own son would be hard headed enough to stick it out.

An annual hunt though would be fun and I could get a better idea about to whom I should allocate my resources.
